Back To School Makeup Tutorial

Many of you will be going back to school soon, if you haven't already, so I thought I'd do a back to school makeup tutorial. This tutorial is aimed more at beginners - people who are just staring high school and may not know how to apply makeup, but it may come in handy for others who may be already there.

Before I apply any makeup I like to apply a moisturiser to the skin. I like to use the Simple Kind To Skin Moisturiser because it doesn't bring me out in spots like other brands do. Don't worry if you haven't got a moisturiser as you can miss this step out.

As you're just starting high school, your skin is still young and doesn't need any foundations on it. However you can cover any redness or spots with a concealer. Make sure it matches your skin tone.

First I'm going to take an eye primer and rub it all over the eyes with my finger. Eye primers help keep the makeup on your eyes all day. This isn't as important, so don't worry if you don't have one. Next I'm going to take a neutral eyeshadow colour and apply all over the eye with a real techniques shading brush

To make the eyes a bit less boring, I'm going to add a darker neutral colour to the outside corners of the eyes with a clean eyeshadow brush. Once that's on I'm going to take a clean eyeshadow brush and blend the too colours together.

I'm going to line the eyes next with a black shadow. The reason I'm not using a pencil or a liquid eyeliner is because I don't want the line to be too strong. I'll be applying the eyeshadow with an angled brush. Make sure you keep as close to the lash line as possible.

To finish off the eyes, curl your lashes and apply a black mascara.

All I'm going to apply to the face is a bronzer and blusher, but we're going to do a bit of contouring. Apply the bronzer to the hollows of your cheeks and the blusher right above the bronzer.

Apply a neutral lipgloss to the lips. Make sure its not got too much sparkle in it as it can look too over the top.

And there you go, you're all done! I hope liked this tutorial and I hope it came in handy. If you've followed my tutorial, take a picture of your finished look and send it to me through one of my social networking sites.
