Hair Tutorial: Styling Your Full Fringe For Beginners

9:00 am

Having a full fringe cut in is a big change. You will have to change most of your styling routine to accommodate your new haircut. This post will give you all the right tips and tricks to ensure that you never have a bad fringe day!

CUT

It's best to get your fringe cut at a hairdressers, don't do it yourself! A professional will cut the fringe with the right amount of hair in it and cut it in the right shape to suit your face. They will also know how to take weight out of the fringe if your hair is thicker so that it sits nicely.

Most hairdressers offer a free fringe trim service to their clients. Most of the time, you don't need an appointment for this service.

BLOWDRY

You will have no choice but to blow-dry your fringe every morning as it will be stuck up everywhere. I find it easier to use a small water spray to wet it down with, so it might be worth buying yourself one. Especially for when you don't have time to blow-dry all your hair.

Drying your fringe takes no longer than five minutes. Below is a step by step guide on how to dry it so that it lays nice and straight with a bit of movement.

1.
Tie or clip the rest of your hair out of the way.
2.
Spray your fringe making sure you get lots of water at the roots.
3.
Using fine tooth comb, comb your hair downwards in the direction it will sit. Start to dry it, making sure the hairdryer follows your comb at all times.
4.
When the hair is almost dry, comb the fringe from side to side to give it some movement.
5.
Comb your fringe back into place.

FINISHING

Don't try to straighten your fringe yourself.  If the blow-dry has been done  right you should not have to. If you attempt to straight your fringe, nine times out of ten you will never get the bevel to be even and it won't sit right.

I would not use any oils or serums on your fringe, as this may make it look greasy. You can apply a light hairspray to keep it in place.
